6 Steps For Good Conduct Application

Good conduct application is easy and not as complex as Kenyans think. Apply for a good conduct online by simply using your computer or mobile phone.

Certificate of good conduct is a document issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya showing the applicant’s criminal record. It’s also referred to as Police Clearance Certificate/form or Affidavit of Good Conduct in other institutions.

Most Kenyan government sectors, companies and NGOs demand this certificate whenever one is applying for a job.

The main purpose for good conduct application is to validate that the person applying for a job has a clean criminal record and its proof that one has good morals and abides by the law.

STEPS FOR GOOD CONDUCT APPLICATION

1.  Login to your E-citizen portal (DCI portal) or rather E-citizen account. ( if you don’t have an account, you can create one  for free)

2. Apply for a police clearance certificate by filling the good conduct certificate application form

3. Print 2 copies of the invoice

4. Print one copy of Form C24 (form for fingerprint)

5. Present the forms to the DCI offices or your nearest Huduma Centre for fingerprint processing

6. Check the E-citizen portal for the certificate after 2-4 weeks.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT

• Original I.D and Copy of I.D

• Original birth certificate and a copy for minors (those below 18yrs)

REQUIREMENTS DURING SUBMISSION

The two (2) downloaded copies of the invoice and the one (1) copy of C24 printed both sides of the C24

The applicant in person (because it’s the applicant’s fingerprints needed)

Original I.D and its photocopy for adults and original birth certificate and photocopy for those under 18yrs

One must allow his or her fingerprints and palm prints to be recorded on a prescribed fingerprint form C24.

NOTE:

A KENYAN CHILD UNDER 18 YEARS WILL MAKE GOOD CONDUCT APPLICATION BY THE HELP OF A PARENT OR GUARDIAN’S  E-CITIZEN ACCOUNT.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THERE ARE GOVERNMENT CHARGES REQUIRED WHEN APPLYING FOR THE CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT/POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE.
