Wraping Up Campaigns As Raila Holds A Rally At Kasarani And Ruto At Nyayo Stadium
All four of the presidential candidates for the 2022 elections are prepared for their final big rallies as their campaigns wind down and they try to win over voters.
The three-month campaign season officially began on May 21 and ended on August 6 according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) timelines.
Azimio la Umoja One Kenyan presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his primary rival Deputy President William Ruto, both seen as the front-runners in the race for State House, will be holding their rallies in the nation’s capital with only three days to voting.
The Azimio chief will hold a large rally at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, and DP Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza candidate, will assemble his followers for a later rally at the famed Nyayo Stadium.
Odinga, who claims to be running on a “integrity motivated” platform, is attempting to win the presidency for a fifth time with a pledge to eradicate corruption and revitalize the nation’s economy.
With a final appeal, Odinga will try to persuade his followers to choose him as the ideal candidate to succeed outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The leader of Kenya Kwanza, who calls himself the “Hustler-In Chief” and has long positioned himself as the protector of the weak and oppressed, is running to succeed his boss and has pledged to rebuild the nation’s economy and put an end to state capture.
The other two candidates, Prof. George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party and David Mwaure of Agano, who are considered underdogs in the 2022 election, will also be promoting their final campaigns around the City.
Mwaure vows to “sanitize” the political environment and end the corruption menace in order to present a fresh face to politics.
Similarly, Prof. Wajackoyah, who has drawn controversy for his outspoken support for the legalization of marijuana, thinks hemp is the best way to raise money and pay off the nation’s mounting debt.
