Woman Steals A Five Days Old Baby Found In Nyandarua County
Currently detained at the Thika Police Station is a 36-year-old lady who is accused of stealing a five-day-old infant.
According to reports, Joyce Wamaitha kidnapped a baby from a mother who had recently undergone a cesarean section at a hospital in Thika.
Ms. Wamaitha had been a friend of the woman’s mother, Dorcas Kivuva, for almost two months, and was the sole person to visit her in the hospital after giving birth.
The suspect, according to Ms. Kivuva, even volunteered to pick her up when she was discharged from the facility, but she later learned that he was merely interested in kidnapping her baby.
“Sikuwa na mtu wa kunishugulikia nikiwa hospitali, yeye tu ndio alikuwa anakuja kunijulia hali. Nikamwambia nimepewa ruhusa kutoka akaniambia atanikujia mpaka na Uber,” said Ms. Kivuva.
“Mimi nilikuwa na kidonda kwa sababu nilikuwa nimefanyiwa CS, singebeba mtoto sasa ni yeye alimbeba na nikamwamini…akapotea.”
While still carrying the infant, the suspect was apprehended at Kambiti village in Murang’a County and is currently being questioned as part of the investigation.
