William Kabogo Accuse Rigathi Gachagua of being a dictator for Imposing Kimani Wa Matangi On Kiambu People
William Kabogo, a Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant, has accused Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua of being intolerant of other Mt Kenya parties in the Kenya Kwanza alliance. During a stopover in Thika on Thursday, June 17, the Tujibebe Wakenya party leader claimed Rigathi was intolerant of other parties from Kenya Kwanza’s Mt Kenya region.
He claimed that Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party was on a mission to oust small alliance parties.
“I want to start a new journey and I cannot do it without coming back home for your blessings. Ruto and his UDA party are planning to make sure we fold our parties but I have refused. They are trying to repeat what they did to Waititu and I. That we must vote for Wamatangi! I was against Rigathi being appointed Ruto’s running mate,”said the gubernatorial hopeful”
Kabogo claimed that his decision to warn Ruto against selecting the lawmaker as his running mate was the beginning of his problems. The former governor stated that he warned Ruto that Rigathi would cost him a large number of votes in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region. He also claimed to be the automatic Mt Kenya Kingpin, which has long troubled Rigathi.
” That is when the relationship between UDA and us soured. That guy is a total dictator. My only mistake is pointing out the truth . I told Ruto that he would lose many votes because of this guy. Can you imagine Rigathi acting as president for sometime because Ruto is incapacitated, I am the de facto Mt Kenya leader and this has been troubling him. I told him even in his Nyeri hometown am the leader,” declared Kabogo
Kuria and Kabogo banded together to defeat the UDA party in the Kiambu gubernatorial election. Following an altercation between Kabogo and Wamatangi, the two gubernatorial candidates boycotted the ongoing Kenya Kwanza rallies in Kiambu. Kuria stated that they had decided to take a day off from the Rigathi campaign caravan.
