Uninspected Meat Sold In Embu Causes Alarm
Embu County Public Health officials have expressed concern about the widespread sale of uninspected meat in the county’s towns.
On Monday, officials voiced worry after intercepting over 300 kg of uninspected meat in transit within Runyenjes town in Embu East.
Chief Public Health Officer Daniel Mbogo warned butchers not to offer uninspected meat.
He stated that they seized over 250 goats and cattle last week.
Mbogo stated that public health officers pounced on some persons ferrying head goats and sheep carcasses of four goats, and that some meat had already been distributed to the public.
