Traffic Officer In Mombasa Dies After A Resistant Motorist Runs Him Over
A traffic officer in Mombasa was killed when a motorist attempting to evade a traffic check ran over him.
Julius Marwa was managing traffic flow at Buxton junction on Tuesday when he hailed a motorist for a traffic check, according to a police report.
Osman Jama Abdi, the driver of a silver Toyota Ractis, refused to turn off the engine so officer Marwa could perform the check.
Officer Marwa then allegedly opened the driver’s door to switch off the ignition when Abdi grabbed his hand and stepped on the gas, speeding away.
Marwa is said to have been pushed out of the car after driving for about 200 meters and was run over by the rear right tire, suffering a head injury and numerous pelvic fractures.
