Three Women Arrested After Allegedly Poisoning And Stealing From A Catholic Nun In Kirinyaga
There was commotion at Kagio Market in Kirinyaga County after three ladies were detained on suspicion of putting a Catholic nun to sleep and robbing her.
Police chief in Kirinyaga, Mathew Mang’ira, claimed that the three, who had a getaway vehicle ready, poisoned the nun before dumping her close to Kagio Catholic Church.
“The three women had parted away with Ksh.17,000 shillings belonging to the Catholic nun, who is in-charge of a local primary school in Mutithi Ward in Mwea. We have recovered the money,” Mang’ira said.
Members of the public rounded up the suspects before they were frog marched to Kagio Police Station for questioning.
“The nun was talking to the three women before her driver came searching for her. He however suspected that something was amiss since she had taken long to return to their vehicle,” witnesses said.
According to a shopkeeper who talked with Citizen Digital, the driver had raised the alarm, and the other bodaboda drivers had promptly responded.
Jackson Wanjohi, the parish priest of Kagio, denounced the occurrence and urged the community to choose legal avenues for earning a decent living.
