The Rongai Robbery; Armed Men Led By A Rogue Police Ambush A Woman After Robbing Two Other Homes
Kajiado police are on the trail of six thugs who robbed a woman at gunpoint in Rongai. Detectives believe one of the six robbers was a police officer, which has resulted in cops being transferred as the investigation continues. The victim’s husband was not at home at the time of the incident, which was captured on CCTV and went viral online.
This comes after a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) video of the heinous robbery went viral on social media, causing outrage among citizens.
According to the Daily Nation, the gun-wielding thugs who ambushed the woman at 2 a.m. had also robbed two neighboring homes moments before.

Detectives are looking into the possibility that one of the suspects is a rogue cop since the robbers were seen holding police guns, an AK-47. Two suspects linked to the robbery are already in police custody.
Following the recent wave of robberies in the area, the interior ministry has already transferred officers out of the area.
As police officers gathered evidence at the woman’s home, they questioned the housekeeper and the victim a second time.
The two other neighbors who had been robbed also made statements. The woman’s husband, later identified as Geoffrey Otieno, was not at home at the time of the incident.
He had traveled outside of Nairobi for work purposes. The housekeeper, who was apprehended running back to the house after coming face to face with the thieves, managed to hide in the couple’s children’s bedroom.
