“That’s A ‘D’ In Performance” Orengo Describes The Kenya Kwanza Alliance Manifesto As Very Poor
James Orengo, a senator from Siaya, claims that William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza platform is full of unattainable promises and has given it a meager 10% of the vote.
He claimed that the manifesto was replete with generalizations devoid of details and pointed out that Ruto never informed Kenyans of his plans to secure funding for carrying out the commitments he made.
The senator continued by saying that Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza team did not outline in their manifesto how they intend to fulfill their ambition to turn Kenya into a middle-income nation.
“Ruto came late and he has come with a manifesto which is full of generalities without specifics; full of promises that cannot be fulfilled,” said Orengo, who is vying for the Siaya Governor’s seat.
“When Raila tells you he’s going to give poor families Ksh.6,000 each, Raila tells you where he’s going to get the money. Ruto is not telling us how he can make Kenya a middle-income country. I’m giving him 10 out of 100, very poor, that is D in performance.”
Dr. Oburu Oginga, a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), asserted that the Kenya Kwanza brigade lacks knowledge, saying that the DP and his staff just copied the manifesto of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party and have no idea how they will carry out their goal.
Dr. Oburu questioned where the DP and his team got the concept for the “false promises” he read to Kenyans during the introduction of his manifesto, while purportedly saying before that he would not create a manifesto.
If the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader were to win the next election, he would be instructed to be innovative and to start his own ideas in order to improve the nation’s economy.
“These people of UDA always copy ODM. You can see the type of manifesto produced, it was a copy-paste of the ODM manifesto. He had said he was not going to produce a manifesto, he was just going to talk and not put anything on paper,” said the EALA MP.
“But when he saw ODM putting it on paper, he also decided to do it. But why did he not become original? He has those professionals, but they have run bankrupt of ideas.”
Dr. Oburu added: “Ruto is saying he is going to bring Ksh.50 billion down here to the mama mboga, what channel is he going to use to distribute it to the people? Is he going to give handouts? This is cheating people.”
The two leaders held many “meet the people” events on Friday in South Sakwa Ward in Bondo Constituency, Siaya County.
