Study Shows Use Of Sex Toys In Ancient Roman Nearly 2000 Years Ago
According to a recent study, ancient Romans in Britain may have used a nearly 2,000-year-old wooden device shaped like a penis as a sexual equipment.
The relic was discovered in 1992 in a ditch near Hadrian’s Wall, which originally constituted the Roman Empire’s northwest frontier in northern England. According to the study, which was published in the journal Antiquity on Sunday, researchers initially identified the instrument as a darning tool.
According to a news release, the misidentification was caused by the tool being discovered alongside hundreds of shoes and dress accessories, as well as other small tools and craft waste products.
