Ms. Rukshana Shaikh, a female Kenya Airlines passenger, was apprehended in India while attempting to smuggle heroin worth at least KSH. 127 million into the country.
Ms. Rukshana, who arrived in India from Harare through Nairobi, claims that the pills were given over to her in Harare on the orders of a Nigerian national located in Delhi and were to be transferred to two people in Mumbai.
The drug was hidden within trolley bags and office folders.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in India also arrested the people who had arrived outside the airport to greet the traveller and the contraband.
