Sifuna To Ruto; We Want To See You Make Yourself President Come August
The ODM party’s Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, has urged William Ruto to make himself president in the next general elections come August 9th
After mocking Uhuru, DP Ruto said that he owed him the president for “forcing” him into the position during the 2017 rerun elections.
Sifuna contended that Ruto’s assertions can be contested and that Uhuru’s victory was mostly determined by his popularity in the mountainous area, where he garnered the majority of the vote.
Sifuna further said that DP Ruto should demonstrate his credibility by running for president in the future elections if it were true that he played a key influence in Uhuru’s election.
“There are very serious questions to be raised about the arguments that are being made about who made who President. It is arguable that that the only ticket that could have secured their bid was with Uhuru as the head,” Sifuna noted while speaking on Citizen TV’s Daybreak show on Tuesday.
“The only way that central Kenya was going to vote in the manner that they did was because of Kenyatta being top of the ticket. So now we want to see this person that claims to have made presidency make himself president now in 2022.”
The ODM Sec Gen added to the feud between DP Ruto and his superior, claiming that it began when President Kenyatta sided with Raila rather than him.
He claimed that Ruto anticipated the president’s backing as payment for his assistance in the 2017 elections, which provoked fury when Uhuru backed Raila in instead of Ruto.
“We do know that William Ruto expected the President to back him in 2022 from 2017 in the elections,” Sifuna pointed out.
“And we believe that all the anger the DP is spewing against his boss is because somewhere along the line the President made a decision that probably made him feel his deputy was not the right person to inherit him.”
Sifuna further reprimanded the UDA supervisor for unjustly attacking the government while still being paid by the same employer.
He described it as immoral and advised him to take responsibility for his actions and step down from his post.
