Shitito Girls’ Principle Passes On While Travelling To School In Kakamega County
Shitoto Girls Secondary in Mumias East, Kakamega County, was in a somber mood after learning that their principal had passed away while traveling to work.
The late Lily Mbati, a diabetic, was in excellent spirits the night before, according to her son Edgar Akwabi, who spoke to Citizen Digital.
“I spoke to mum on the phone and encouraged her to take her medication as usual, to which she replied in the affirmative,” Akwabi said.
Later, neighbors would phone him in the morning to tell him that his mother had passed out while driving to work.
Ruth Musafu, Mbati’s deputy, recalled her late employer as a trustworthy, committed servant leader who cherished instruction.
“We are all going to miss her dearly. We pray for grace as we mourn our beloved principal,” Musafu said.
The lone teacher of home science at the institution was the late Mbati. As they get ready for national exams, the institution has asked the Ministry of Education to look into the situation.
The deceased’s body was transported to the mortuary at St. Mary’s Mission Hospital.
