Sheikh Of Doom And Pastor From Hell Both Arraigned In Court Over Rape Allegations
The alleged gang rape of a lady in Kakamega three years ago is the subject of a trial in Eldoret involving a pastor and a sheikh.
Her two kids, ages two and five, were in shock as they observed this.
The woman, who was visibly upset, described how a gang broke into her home in Lugari, Kakamega, on the night of August 2-3, 2019, and gang-raped her for many hours.
“My children could not help. Those who raided by house were so violent and did no want to hear my cries for mercy,” she said.
Pastor Danson Malea, Sheikh Stephen Barasa, and other defendants who are not present in court are on trial.
The assailants took a Techno phone, which was found on one of the suspects, and Sh700 in cash. Lugari is where they were detained.
They entered a not guilty plea and were released on a Sh500,000 bond, each with a matching surety. They are accused of perpetrating a rape, an assault, an indecent behavior, and stealing. The woman claimed that Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret provided her medical care.
When the accused refuted the accusations and was released in August 2019, the case was first brought up.
The investigating officer, the police officer who made the arrest, and a medical professional from MTRH who will testify on July 25 are the last three witnesses.
