Roselyne Akombe Remembers His Ex late Colleague Chris Msando On His 5th Death Anniversary
Chris Msando, the late ICT Manager of the electoral commission, was honoured by former IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe precisely five years after his horrible death.
Through her Twitter account on Thursday, Akombe expressed her continued optimism that Msando’s killers will eventually be brought to justice.
“Five years since you were handed to the brutal killers to thwart efforts of delivering a credible election in Kenya. Though your betrayers have been rewarded & electoral integrity remains in peril, JUSTICE will be served, no matter how long it takes IEBC,” wrote Akombe.
On July 28, 2017, Msando was discovered dead, four days after going missing during the lead-up to the most recent General Election.
His body was discovered with another young woman’s body at Muguga Forest in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
According to autopsy results, Msando was strangled to death using just his bare hands. Additionally, his body had deep wrist slits that indicated torture.
The file has been with the investigation team for five years, but the mystery murder’s solutions have not been found.
Akombe, for her part, fled the nation covertly to the US, where she announced her resignation eight days ahead of the repeat presidential election on October 26, 2017. She stated several reasons for leaving her post, including internal strife at the election commission and political threats to her life.
Msando was in charge of managing the Kenya Integrated Electoral Management System’s public testing (KIEMS). He had faith that the electoral voting process would prevent vote-rigging during elections.
