Report Indicates Kenyans Spent More Than Ksh.109.4 Billion On Alcohol
According to a report by East African Breweries PLC (EABL), Kenyans consumed more alcoholic beverages in the fiscal year that concluded on June 30, 2022, compared to the prior year.
According to the research, Kenyans spent Ksh109.4 billion on the company’s numerous alcoholic products. The figure represents a 27% rise above net sales from the prior year, according to the business.
“EABL has reported Ksh.109.4 billion in net sales for the full year ended June 30, 2022, representing a 27 per cent growth compared to the same period last year,” the company said in the report.
Kenya has some other commercial brewers and microbreweries that can increase the overall amount of money Kenyans spend on hard drinks in addition to EABL, which has the greatest market share in the nation.
Although these brewers manufacture a wide range of goods, including beer, spirits, and malt among others, beer continues to be Kenyans’ favorite beverage.
According to the data issued by EABL, out of all of its brands, beer had the strongest performance in the market, with a 27% increase in sales.
“EABL’s largest market, Kenya delivered 30 per cent net sale growth, mainly on the back of strong beer recovery and continued growth in spirits,” it said.
