Raila Odinga; You Have A Right To Vote Your Preferred Candidate Without Feeling Threatened
Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja One candidate for president of Kenya, has recently stated that no one should feel intimidated into not supporting any candidate in the upcoming elections.
At a gathering for his campaign on Sunday in Eldoret, Raila urged his followers to utilize their constitutionally protected right to vote without being pressured.
“You have the right of voting for whoever you want without being threatened by anyone, and no Kenyan should feel threatened that if they vote this way or that way he is going to be evicted from where he lives. That will not happen,” said Raila.
Raila said he is looking forward to the eight days before becoming the republic’s fifth president. Raila is convinced he would win the presidency in the next elections.
“As from today till the election date Uhuru Kenyatta is in charge. Then after that I will be sworn in. Then we will bring an end to all this noise we are currently hearing.”
Raila also stated that if elected, his government will begin dealing with corruption, which he sees as the greatest impediment to the country’s progress.
“We have already told Kenyans what we will do to Kenyans once we get into power and we have said that the greatest enemy of the people is illiteracy, poor health, poverty and corruption,” noted Raila.
“And we cannot fight the first three before dealing with corruption, that is what is ailing the country and that is the reason why the country is where it is.”
Along with his deputy Martha Karua, Azimio Secretary General Junet Mohammed, COTU President Francis Atwoli, and former MP Peter Kenneth, Odinga was flanked by other Azimio leaders.
