Presidential Results To Be Announced Shortly As IEBC Completed Tallying Almost All Constituencies
Six days after Kenyans cast their votes, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has finished confirming all Forms 34A and Forms 34B.
The electoral body had examined, approved, and declared the results for 259 constituencies as of Monday at 9:30 a.m.
At the time, all 290 constituencies’ votes had been checked and confirmed, according to Citizen TV Political Affairs Editor Francis Gachuri, who had been present at the IEBC national tallying center at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.
The remaining 32 constituencies were merely awaiting the results at this point.
“What remains now is just about 32 constituencies to go. Barring any serious situation, we should be able to have the final declaration in an hour or two hours time,” said Mr. Gachuri in a live TV update.
This is a summary of all the votes cast in each polling location nationwide as well as a tally of all the presidential election results from the diaspora constituency’s 290 constituencies.
In the Form 34C, which is a compilation of all Forms 34B, IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati is anticipated to make the official announcement of the results of the presidential race.
“Latest about 1 o’clock we should be knowing who President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor is,” added Mr Gachuri.David Mwaure, the current front-runner for the Agano Party, has withdrawn from the contest.
According to the votes he had received, Mr. Mwaure stated on Sunday that he did not believe he had a chance.
