Not Today; Matiang’i’s Lawyer Says His Client Will Not Appear Before DCI Today
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi will not show at the DCI offices today, according to his lawyer Danstan Omari.
According to Omari, there was no legitimate summons to compel the former CS to appear at the detectives’ offices.
Matiangi returned to the country on Saturday after a two-week private tour of Europe, and he is anticipated to appear at DCI offices.
Matiangi is also on the EACC’s radar for his wealth from 2013 to 2022, after the anti-graft agency wrote to the director of public service about it.
His lawyer stated that his client was unaware of any investigations being conducted against him, but he supports any action taken by officers as is their right.
