David Gikaria, a member of parliament for Nakuru East, has been detained.
The MP was detained following an incident at a polling location within the county, according to Nakuru Police Commander Peter Mwanzo.
At the Central Police Station, he is being held in custody.
In a contest with four competitors, incumbent MP Gikaria is running for re-election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
