Nairobi Express Way Remain Closed As From Tonight Until Further Notice
After being opened nearly three months ago, the Nairobi Expressway will stop operating on Saturday when the trial period comes to an end.
The 27-kilometer roadway that runs from Mlolongo to Westlands will be blocked until it is formally opened, according to the Moja Expressway, the entity in charge of administering the route.
“The trial period for the Nairobi Expressway, which commenced on 14th May 2022 has come to an end. The road will be closed from 9 pm this Saturday, July 30th, 2022 until it’s officially commissioned,” read a statement from Moja.
“Moja Expressway Company Ltd regrets any inconvenience caused and motorists will be advised upon resumption of service on the Expressway,” stated the notice.
President Uhuru Kenyatta stated that a trial basis would enable the government to identify portions that needed to be cleaned up during the road’s launch in May.
