Mosoriot Academy In Bomet County Shut Down After 3 Pupils Were Sodomized By Head Teacher
After allegations of sodomy by a teacher were made, Mosoriot Academy in Bomet County was shut down permanently.
Early on Tuesday, county education ministry officials closed the school. Several pictures from the closure show parents and teachers leaving the building.
A male instructor who allegedly sodomized three students between the ages of 11 and 13 is currently being detained in Bomet County.
The defendant, who will be charged with the horrible crimes at Mosoriot Academy, was brought to Mogogosiek Police Station in Konoin.
The suspect, Bernard Kirui, was detained when one of the victims complained of excruciating pain and was taken to Litein Mission Hospital, where it was determined that he had been sodomized, according to Konoin police chief Tom Achiya.
“His arrest follows complaints from staff members at the school. We conducted investigations, which led to the apprehension of the suspect,” Achiya said.
Preliminary investigations show that the teacher slept at the boys’ dormitory despite having a room allocated to him by the school.
“We are contemplating closing down the school to pave way for investigations amid complaints from parents and the local community,” Koiwa Chief Emmy Ngetich told Citizen Digital.
The suspect is expected at Sotik Law Courts once police conclude their investigations.
