Monkeys Drop A Four Months Old Baby From A Three Storey Building After Snatching It From Its Father
An infant who was allegedly abducted from his parents and thrown from a three-story building in India at the age of four months has died.
According to reports, the father of the child, Nirdesh Upadhyay, and his wife were comforting their screaming infant on their third-floor roof terrace in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Then, a group of monkeys from the neighborhood climbed onto the roof and surrounded the family.
“It was getting dark. We were actually preparing for my elder son’s birthday. My younger son started crying, so I took him to the terrace,” Nirdesh told the Indian Times.
“After a while, some monkeys jumped from another roof and two of them attacked me.”
The two parents began sprinting up the stairs when Nirdesh, who was carrying the baby, failed to scare the primates away.
According to the stories, the baby fell from his grasp before he could pick it up because a monkey caught hold of him and hurled him off the roof.
“One of them seemed to be leading the troop and grabbed my son. I screamed for help and then rushed down to find my son spattered in blood,” he lamented.
The group of monkeys also attacked his other family members who rushed up to the terrace to aid him.
As investigations into the incident are ongoing, local authorities are now attempting to relocate the monkeys due to the increase in attacks on humans, particularly children.
