MoH; Kenya Records 34 New Cases Of Covid 19, Positivity Rate Of 2.7%
Out of a sample size of 1,283 people tested in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health revealed on Wednesday that 34 people tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the positivity rate to 2.7%.
The incidents involve 20 Kenyans and 4 foreigners; 20 men and 14 women; the youngest victim is 4 years old and the oldest is 93.
Out of 3,827,700 cumulative testing, there have been a total of 337,768 verified positive cases.
Nairobi had 16 cases, Kericho had 6, Nakuru had 4, Kiambu had 2, Uasin Gishu had 2, Garissa had 1, Murang’a had 1, Siaya had 1, and Taita Taveta had one.
42 people recovered from the illness at the same time. However, no fatalities were reported at that time; hence cumulatve fatalities stand at 5672
“There are 46 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 589 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program,” noted Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe in a statement to newsrooms.
On the vaccination front, the ministry noted that 20,797,482 vaccines had been administered across the country as of August 3rd 2022.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry recorded that 28,282 vaccines had been administered while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the same period was 10,568.
“Proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 34.2%. The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033,” added the CS.
