Mishi Dorah Says Her Kids Were Taken To The Orphanage After Being Jailed
Former Nairobi Diaries actress Dorah Clara Ojenge, also known as Mishi Dorah, has admitted that when she was imprisoned, her kids were placed in an orphanage.
She was accused of obtaining Sh152,550 in credit through false pretenses at the Kibera law courts after dining and indulging in pricey alcohol at a city club. She received a 38-day prison term.
The actress said during a TV47 interview that she hasn’t yet received her children back after they were taken to an orphanage.
“I’m not okay, because right now I don’t have my kids. My kids were taken to the orphanage. I’m not even in my house. I’m trying to bounce back. What I know is I’m going to bounce back. My first priority is getting my kids back,” said the actress.
Mishi also recounted her terrifying experience in jail claiming she went through hell.
“I was in for 38 days. Look at my skin. Nimekulwa na chawa. Look at me! My beautiful skin used to glow. I mean, prison is hell. I don’t think there’s any other hell apart from prison,” she added.
The actress was accused in court on June 3rd of acquiring Sh152,550 in credit under false pretenses.
In the Kibera Law Courts, Dorah was accused of ordering chicken for Sh3,000, a cocktail for Sh2,000, a bottle of water for Sh400, three energy drinks for Sh1,650, and two sodas for Sh500. Dorah contested the claims.
According to court documents, the actress also purchased seven 750ml bottles of Hennessy VS and Belaire Luxe, each for Sh70,000.
When it came time to pay, though, complications arose because the actress claimed her bank was having trouble, and attempts to collect the money from her home were fruitless.
The club’s management had to contact the police after Dorah failed to follow through on her commitment to pay the bill at a later time and did not return calls to her.
