Miguna Miguna Is Set To Announce His Return Date After President Ruto Lifts Red Alerts
Following the election of President William Ruto, lawyer Miguna Miguna claims that the “red alerts” impeding his entry into the nation will be lifted on Wednesday, September 13, 2022.
Miguna assured Kenyans via social media on Tuesday that his protracted exile would soon come to an end after the new head of state pledged to make it easier for him to return.
“I’m happy to announce that President WilliamsRuto has assured me that the RED ALERTS will be LIFTED on Wednesday, September 14, 2022,” he wrote on Twitter.
Miguna said that he would proceed to have his passport processed before setting a date for his travel.
“Thereafter, I will have my Kenyan Passport renewed and I’ll announce the date of my RETURN TO MY MOTHERLAND. Bravo!” Miguna added.
This declaration comes after President Ruto’s pledge to have Miguna, who expressed his support for the UDA leader, brought back into the nation if he were to win the highest office, fulfill his ambition.
After Ruto was declared the winner of the August elections, the lawyer later professed confidence about being permitted to enter the nation.
“To all patriots: Relax. Thanks for the solidarity. Yes, I’ve packed my bags and I’m ready. But before I can take my flight back home, William Samoei Ruto must first be sworn in as President, the red alerts lifted and my Kenyan passport renewed. See you soon. Cheers!” Miguna wrote on Twitter on 15th August.
After taking part in the simulated swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga as the People’s President at Uhuru Park in 2018, the troubled attorney was deported to Canada.
Miguna’s lawyer has been criticizing the government’s red alerts that prevent him from leaving the nation, which is hampering efforts to get him back into the country.
However, outgoing Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Karanja Kibicho has constantly denied any involvement on the part of the Jubilee government in the obstacles to Attorney Miguna Miguna’s entry back into the country.
