Man Hits His Brother To Death Over Omena In Kakamega County
After reportedly hitting his brother to death over a plate of fingerlings, or “Omena,” a man is being detained by authorities in Kakamega County.
In the event, the suspect approached his 56-year-old brother in the Likuyani Constituency village of Kambi Elijah.
Albert Adamba and John Kilibwa were eating at their mother’s house with their brothers when they got into an argument over a bite of the treat.
Vincent Misango, their older brother, further stated that the two engaged in a verbal battle. Adamba defeated Kilibwa and knocked him to the ground in the struggle to satiate their ravenous need.
“It is a sad state of affairs, given that they fought at their mother’s house at their age. We now have a mountain out of a small matter,” Jimmy Ngwayumba, a village elder, said.
Kilibwa was hurt during the altercation and sent to Turbo Hospital, where doctors immediately declared him dead.
The defendant is being detained at the Likuyani Police Station until his arraignment, according to area assistant chief Moses Wanjala.
