Kericho Governor Leads People In Chasing Away Land Grabbers
Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai oversaw an effort to expel a private investor who allegedly stole a two-acre plot of property intended for Kericho to use as a dumpsite.
The Governor led a group of locals who tore down the fence that surrounded the plot of property. According to Mutai, the incident should serve as a warning to any land speculators.
In Kericho, he claimed, more than 20 acres of land had been illegally taken over, and he added that preparations are in motion to reclaim all unjustly taken public lands.
After the exercise, he declared, “As a custodian of public property, I will remain resolute in preserving whatever belongs to the people.”
Additionally, Governor Mutai has ordered the county secretary to publish all notices to leave and public land.
