There are 2,251,929 registered voters in the capital city, dispersed among 17 sub-counties. Additionally, there will be separate tallying centers for each of the sub-counties.

The tallying center for the Starehe sub-county, which has the most registered voters overall with 169,575, will be located at Jamhuri High School. Starehe is divided into five wards: Nairobi South, Pangani, Ngara, Landimawe, and Nairobi Central.
Eight candidates applied from Nairobi, the county with the largest population according to the most recent census. However, only Johnson Sakaja of the United Democratic Alliance and Polycarp Igathe of the Jubilee party are anticipated to receive the most number of votes.
The other six candidates are Agnes Kagure Kariuki, Esther Waringa Thairu, Nancy Wambui Mwadime of Usawa Kwa Wote, Kenneth Nyamwamu of the United Progressive Alliance, Cleophas Kiio Mutua of Ford Kenya, and Harman Singh Grewal of the Safina Party.
