Kasarani Residents Raise Concerns Over Growing Insecurity In The Area
In light of the rising unrest, police in Nairobi’s Kasarani Constituency have been urged to conduct nighttime patrols.
Residents of Kasarani, Mwiki, and Hunters told Citizen Digital that there has been an increase in robbery events in their neighborhoods.
Locals claim that an unidentified group has been threatening business owners, most recently targeting those in Kasarani near St. Francis Hospital.
“I got to work this morning, only to find the door wide open. The thieves made away with two gas cylinders, among other assorted items,” Hellen Maina, a trader, said.
The gun wielding gang operates in the thick of the night, when most businesses have closed shop.
“The gunmen recently broke into a shop here in Kasarani before fleeing on two motorbikes, “ a night guard said.
Following the spate of robberies, local business owners and citizens have urged the government to step up police monitoring to safeguard the safety of the community.
