Jowie Irungu’s Case; Chief Investigating Officer Claims Jackie Maribe And Jowie Were Both Involved In The Murder Of Monica Kimani
The final witness in the Monica Kimani murder case, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, and Jacque Maribe, have both given statements implicating the two co-accused.
On Thursday, June 6, Chief Investigating Officer Maxwell Otieno assigned Jowie to the Lamuria Gardens murder scene where Monica was murdered
Citizen TV reports that in his closing statements, Otieno told the court that he firmly believe Jowie and Maribe murdered the Juba-based businesswoman in September 2018.

According to the forensic evidence presented in court, Jowie was seen leaving the apartment at 11:35 p.m. on the night Monica was allegedly murdered.
Jowie then met a friend, Jennings Orlando, on foot at 11:40 p.m. at a gas station, boarded Maribe’s vehicle, and was the last person seen with Monica before her death. Following the incident, the two went to a club in Westlands.
Otieno also stated that the two, who were previously engaged, made contradictory statements to investigators about Jowie’s injuries at Maribe’s house. They claimed he was attacked by thugs, but cops determined the injuries were self-inflicted with a neighbor’s firearm. Brian Kasaine, Jowie’s neighbor, also told officers that the accused asked for something flammable, saying he wanted to burn something.
Officers searched the trench in front of Maribe and Jowie’s house and discovered partially burned material that resembled a white kanzu. Jowie was dressed in a white kanzu, a maroon cap, and a grey coat, according to Monica’s security guards.
Neighbors also claimed Maribe saw the clothes being burned near her home. Maribe’s phone was turned off at 10:25 p.m., around the time of the murder. Exhibits presented by the prosecution included items recovered from Monica’s body, house, Maribe’s car, and house.
The case will be heard on July 11th.
