Isaac Ruto Falls ill And Airlifted To Nairobi For Treatment
Isaac Ruto, a candidate for governor of Bomet, is currently receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital, where he is reported to have been admitted on Tuesday.
According to reports, the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader was flown to the city on the specified day for medical treatment for acute illness.
Ruto was ill for the majority of last week due to the acute flu, according to a statement released on Thursday by CCM party Secretary General Albert Kochei.
However, he made an effort to reassure the first Bomet Governor’s supporters that he would soon be able to stand again and thanked Amref Flying Doctors for their prompt assistance.
“I wish to notify the members of the public that Isaac Kiprono Ruto fell ill on Tuesday 9th August 2022 and was airlifted to Nairobi Hospital by Amref Flying Doctors. Isaac Ruto had been unwell for the past one week due to acute flu which necessitated immediate evacuation from Bomet for thorough medical attention,” stated Kochei.
“The doctor’s report indicates that he is on a road to recovery and we expect him to be discharged anytime from today. Isaac Ruto, regrets that he is not able to be with his supporters during this crucial moment of vote counting. He wishes to assure them that he will be back soon.”
“He wishes to thank his family and supporters for their moral support and in particular appreciate Arnref Flying Doctors for their fast evacuation reaction,” the secretary general continued.
Ruto is up against Hillary Barchok (UDA) and Benard Mutai in his bid to win the position of Bomet Governor for a second time (ANC).
