I Will Use My Frozen Funds To Construct A Grill Meat Joint For Men And A Pleaseant Spot For Porridge For Women; Says Rigathi
Kenya Kwanza’s running mate for president, Rigathi Gachagua, stated on Tuesday that he will be free to access his frozen cash after their victory in the polls in August.
Gachagua said that he would build an opulent residence with the money.
Speaking in Mathira at the political gathering, the MP asserted that his new house will have a nyama choma base for men and a porridge spot and dancing space for women who visit his wife.
“You are aware that the government has frozen my account. I’ll get my money back when we win the election, then I’ll come to Kieni and build a house so you can come and see me. I’ll construct a nice residence, as well as a nice location for men to grill meat and drink what we drink as we talk,” Gachagua said.
“We’ll have a pleasant spot set aside for the ladies, where they can visit the husband’s wife while sipping porridge and dancing.”
Due to allegations of money laundering, Gachagua’s three personal accounts at Rafiki Microfinance Bank were suspended in May 2020.
Gachugua was under investigation for allegedly working with officials from the county of Nyeri and the state department of irrigation to gather money that was purportedly the proceeds of crime through his enterprises and close pals.
Senior resident magistrate Muthoni Nzibe granted ARA’s request and mandated the freezing of all accounts for a period of time, barring Gachagua from doing any transactions.
