I Was Shy And Embarassed To Complete My Undergraduate Degree; Sakaja Opens Up
Johnson Sakaja, a senator from Nairobi, has outlined a few of the reasons why he did not complete his actuarial science undergraduate study at the University of Nairobi.
Sakaja enrolled in the institution in 2003 to start the aforementioned program, however he hasn’t graduated like his classmates have. He said that the main cause of his failure to complete his education at the University of Nairobi’s Chiromo campus was a lack of funds.
The senator claimed that because time had gone, he was too humiliated and timid to return and complete the course.
He consequently made the decision to enroll in Uganda’s Team University’s bachelor of science in management program in order to pursue the degree he claims to hold.
“I studied actuarial science at the UoN for four years. There is a document they keep spreading around of students to be discontinued and it shows the reasons, lack of fees and what not and of course it was a difficult process.
There are a few units I didn’t complete, but the ceremony of graduation is not what confers the knowledge to you. By the time I was able to go back I was too shy and embarrassed to go back and complete it. I will finish the three or four units,” he said.
In an interview with Spice FM on Friday, July 1, Sakaja made a statement.
