Hushpuppi Is Set To Receive His Sentence Come September 21st
Ramon Abbass, a commonly known as Hushpuppi, a Nigerian internet fraudster, will be sentenced on September 21, 2022, according to the Central District of California, Los Angeles, United States Attorney’s Office.
Hushpuppi’s punishment date has been postponed by the court at least three times since his conviction in 2021 for an alleged $1.1M fraud.
In accordance with court records, he faces a 20-year sentence, a 3-year supervised release period, a fine of $500,000, or double the gross gain or gross loss attributable to the offense.
Along with 12 other people, he was detained in Dubai in June 2020 and later deported to the US for prosecution.
