“He Told Me Not Everything In LIfe Is Comedy” Kansiime Ann Explains Why He Broke Up With Ex Husband Ojok
In an interview with Bump Love, Kansiime claimed that when she told Ojok that marriage wasn’t in her future plans, he simply ignored her.
“I don’t see marriage… I feel like I’m not working towards [it],” Kansiime said she told Ojok, who thought she was in comic mode. “He always knew I was a comedian before anything else… and he told me, `not everything in life is comedy’.”
Looking back on that moment, the comedian said, It’s that response from her former husband that led to the breakup.
“If I can have such an… absolutely honest conversation with you who I think is the man going to be in my life and you… don’t even take me seriously enough to judge me and quarrel about it, but you think i’m being funny… it’s then that I knew that this has got to end,” she narrated.
“Sometimes you need to acknowledge that you are moving at a pace that the person you are with is not moving and if you acknowledge it earlier, you save the both of you a lot of heartache.”
Away from that, Kansiime says Ojok had no issues because he wasn’t even bothered by them not having a child despite being together for five years and her being in her mid-thirties.
“With Mr Ojok, the thing with him is, sometimes… I loved his reserved nature… of this one can’t embarrass me in public… he will think twice about what he speaks,” she said of her former husband.
She also said that she loved the parents of Gerald Ojok.
“I would look at him (father-in-law and love the son, and be like… I hope there are bits of this man in the son,” she said. “So, it’s not that it was a bad family. It’s just that… I was working so much, and I was not understood and I was suffering because I wanted to have a child.”
