“Hana Kuma” Naomi Osaka And Lebron Jame’s New Company Name Brings Alot Of Discussion As It Means Something Else In Kiswahili
Kenyans are going crazy on Twitter over the fact that Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, called her business Hana Kuma.
Osaka claims that the Japanese word for “Hana Kuma” is “flower bear,” however Kenyans have a different interpretation of the two Swahili names.
Black lives matter and bullying have always been important issues in Osaka.

When she withdrew from the French Open in 2021, citing the need to put her own well-being first, she sparked a global conversation on mental health in sports.
In the new business, Osaka is collaborating with NBA star LeBron James.
Hana Kuma’s financial, operational, and producing partners will be LeBron’s media company, The SpringHill Company, which he co-owns with his longtime business partner Maverick Carter.
Osaka told the New York Times in a Zoom interview.
“I honestly can’t say if I’ll personally be in anything right now.
What excites me is being able to inspire people and tell new stories, particularly ones that I would have wanted to see when I was a kid.
I always wanted to kind of see someone like me,”
LeBron, on his part, said:
“We don’t take for granted the position we are in to lend a helping hand, in this case to Naomi, to help empower her to do even more great things.”
Hana Kuma’ intends to produce: TV series, Documentaries, Animated and Branded content.
