Governor Gladys Wanga Issues A 15 Days Tax Holiday In Homabay County
Starting Monday, September 14th, Governor Gladys Wanga has mandated a 15-day tax holiday for Homa Bay County.
A 13-member multi-agency task group will be creating measures to boost revenue collections as the county government identifies the gaps causing a low revenue collection throughout the time period.
The county had anticipated to collect Ksh 300,000 by year’s end but now believes it can achieve Ksh 1 billion in the same time frame, Governor Wanga said, underscoring the fact that the rates at which income is collected continue to fluctuate.
“After my inauguration, I sought an update from relevant offices on the financial health of the county,” said Wanga as quoted by Business Daily.
“We have seen a fluctuation that points to breach in the system of revenue collection. There is no point in people paying money that does not reach the county”
