Four People Arrested In Kibra Over Alleged Voter Bribery
Four ladies are being held by Kibra police on suspicion of buying votes.
The first three were detained at the Toi primary voting location after being confronted by local authorities while attempting to sway the outcome of the election.
The fourth person was detained for performing the identical offense at Kenyatta Market Station.
When questioned by the authorities, the suspects claimed they were operatives working for MacDonald Mariga, a UDA candidate for the Kibra parliamentary seat.
Gideon Ombogi, the deputy county commissioner for Kibra, confirmed the arrests and stated that the three were being held in the Kibra police station.
The administrator announced that a new investigation has been started to identify the perpetrator of the vice.
Local officials in Kibra who are watching the election have expressed alarm about widespread voter bribery and asked the police to be more vigilant.
