Former Nyatike MP In Court Over Shooting Incident That Left One Injured
A native of Lwanda, Nyatike Sub County, who had been shot in the shooting event, former Nyatike Member of Parliament (MP) Edick Omondi Anyanga, has been disarmed.
Migori county police chief Mark Wanjala confirmed the event and claimed the former lawmaker was being followed home when he was approached by a group of individuals.
Police promised to investigate the situation thoroughly in order to prepare for legal action.
“The former MP has recorded a statement with police. We confiscated his firearm as we probe the matter,” Wanjala added.
On his part, the former lawmaker claimed that he shot in the air after fearing for his life. “My life was in danger and I had to protect myself by shooting in the air,” Anyanga said
Inpatient care for the sufferer is being provided at Sori-Lakeside Hospital.
