Former Aide To Raila, Caroli Omondi Wins Suba South MP Race
Caroli Omondi, a former advisor to party leader Raila Odinga, won the campaign for Suba South Member of Parliament on behalf of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Caroli the winner on Wednesday, displacing outgoing lawmaker and ODM National Chairman John Mbadi.
He received 25,036 votes in total across the four wards, defeating Stephen Sangira, an independent candidate, who received 13,238 votes, who was his closest rival.
The following candidates also ran for the position and gained votes: Omedo Misama (88), Julius Opala (114), Jared Abich (75), and Aloyo Odongo (50).
