Flashy Twitter Influencer Frank Obegi Among The Four Mutilated Bodies Found In A Forest
Frank Obegi, a popular Kenyan Twitter influencer, was positively identified as one of four mutilated bodies discovered in Kijabe Forest, Kiambu county.
Obegi and three people believed to be his friends vanished from Kasarani in Nairobi about a week ago, only to be discovered dead on Sunday, June 19. According to Lari OCPD Anderson Furaha, the bodies were badly mutilated and had their private parts amputated. They appeared to have been strangled to death.
“One of them had been partly eaten by wild animals. Their private parts had been amputated and it seems they died through strangulation. They had no identification documents and were naked,” Furaha said as quoted by Nation.
Elijah Omeka, Mose Nyachae, and Fred Obare Mokaya were identified as the other three. Their remains were transferred to City Mortuary, where they are being stored pending further investigation.
According to unconfirmed reports, Obegi was part of a group that scammed people online using cryptocurrency and ATMs, and he may have been killed in a botched transaction.
