Evans Kidero Heads To Court To Challenge Gladys Wanga’s Win On Homabay Gubernatorial Seat
Evans Kidero, a candidate for governor in Homa Bay, has threatened to contest Gladys Wanga’s victory in the general election.
Kidero claims that he will go to court to seek legal remedy on the recently announced governorship results.
According to the results released by the IEBC on Friday morning, Gladys Wanga of the ODM had won the seat with 244,059 votes.
Kidero, who was running on an Independent ticket, came in second place with 152,182 votes.
Wanga had the advantage in seven of the county’s eight constituencies while Kidero had a 2,000-vote advantage in Homa Bay Town.
The first candidate to promise to challenge the IEBC’s results in court is the former governor of Nairobi.
