Egypt Stops Bid To Sell Ancient Statue
According to Egypt, three persons have been apprehended for allegedly attempting to use a crane to take a large statue of an ancient Pharaoh.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the three were discovered in possession of the crane and digging equipment they had used to attempt to raise the ten-ton statue and unearth ancient artifacts in the ancient city of Aswan.
Ramses the Great, who passed away more over 3,000 years ago, is shown in the statue.
There are orders to look into any further collaborators, and an investigation is currently underway.
Egypt has recently been successful in recovering thousands of artifacts that were illegally exported.
