DCI Detectives In The United States For Advanced Training
Three officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are in the United States for a week-long training on how to handle homicide-related cases.
The International Homicide Investigators Association’s program, to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, was chosen to include the trio of Fredrick Odemba, Vincent Langat, and Patrick Wachira from the DCI’s Homicide Department (IHIA).
The DCI study claims that the international program for specialized sleuths aims to give its officers the expertise they need to deal with the country’s pervasive death crimes.
“The training has brought together an elite group of professionals, from around the world, representing all death investigation disciplines,” read the statement by the DCI on Sunday.
“IHIA’s membership includes highly respected death and homicide investigators, criminal behaviourists, forensic scientists, crime scene technicians, crime and intelligence analysts, and others, many of whom are considered among the foremost experts in their respective fields and disciplines.”
DCI emphasized the significance of including its staff in the initiative, claiming that doing so would aid in the resolution of numerous connected cases across the nation.
“The experience acquired by the detectives in the training, will undoubtedly go a long way in assisting the Directorate to solve homicide cases expeditiously and deliver justice to victims of crime,” stated DCI.
In an effort to combat crimes in the digital economy, the government commissioned DCI’s National Forensic lab two months prior to the development.
