Blow To Wavinya Ndeti As Two Machakos Voters Challenge Her University Degree In Court
Two Machakos County voters have filed a lawsuit to overturn the IEBC disputes tribunal’s dismissal of a complaint that questioned the legitimacy of Wavinya Ndeti’s university degree.
Gideon Ngewa and Kisilu Mutisya contend that Wavinya lacks the necessary academic credentials to run for governor of Machakos.
The two voters ask the court to order the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to look into the validity of the certificate that Wavinya submitted.
Additionally, they ask the court to direct the Commission for University Education (CUE) to cease accepting Wavinya’s 1995 and 1992 Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees, respectively.
The Machakos Deputy Registrar was instructed by High Court judge George Odunga to verify Wavinya Ndeti’s degree certificate along with the other respondents and submit a report in court.
The case’s parties have been instructed to submit their arguments in the interim.
On July 11, the topic will be discussed and decided.
