Be Ready For The Return Of Football; Nick Mwendwa Says After President’s Swearing In
The fifth President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Ruto, took the oath of office on Tuesday. Despite being under siege, Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa remains optimistic about the revival of the local leagues.
Mwendwa invited national teams, referees, and other football stakeholders to start preparing for the new season, which he intimated might start in a month, in a post on the microblogging website Twitter.
Mwendwa, who is thought of as the President’s close supporter, recently signaled his return to the top of the FKF leadership in a letter to the organization in charge of world football, Fifa, saying that his presidency had been reinstated.
After being accused of corruption, Mwendwa passed those authority to Doris Petra, the vice president of the FKF, in November of last year.
