Alfred Keter Loses The Nandi Hills MP Seat To UDA’s Benard Kitur
UDA contender Bernard Kibor Kitur has defeated incumbent MP Alfred Keter for the Nandi Hills constituency.
In the voting on August 9, Keter, running on an Independent ticket, received 18037 votes, while Kitur, his primary rival, received 23503.
Vincent Koech, who received 215 votes, David Kosgey, who received 130 votes, and Charles Meto, who received 94 votes, were the other candidates in the MP race.
The Nandi Hills Returning Officer announced Kitur as the winner on Wednesday in the afternoon.
In April’s UDA party primaries, Keter, who had won the MP seat on a Jubilee Party ticket in 2017, elected to become an independent.
