A Man Dies After Setting Himself and His 2year Old Daughter On Fire In Nairobi County
In Nasra Estate, Njiru, Nairobi County, a man was killed on Sunday after setting fire to the vehicle he was traveling in with his daughter.
According to the police, Denis Musyoka, 34, and his estranged wife Elizabeth were fighting over something.
He allegedly asked to have their 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter brought to his place so they could spend time together.
After Elizabeth arrived at his residence over the weekend holding a bag, Musyoka is accused of forcing his way into her vehicle, pulling out a knife, and repeatedly stabbing her in the neck.
“The lady managed to jump out of the vehicle and was rescued by good samaritans. The deceased then set himself on fire in the said vehicle together with her daughter, 2.5 yrs,” police said on Sunday.
Elizabeth was sent to Mama Lucy Hospital together with her kid, where she is doing well.
The infant, who is reportedly in a severe condition, has been moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized care.
The baby was later pronounced dead due to severe injuries from the fire
During the course of the incident’s investigation, investigators in Kayole took Musyoka’s remains to the Mama Lucy Hospital morgue.
At the site, police found a knife and a partially burned five-liter jerry can that they believe contained gasoline.
