A 17 Year Old Boy Arrested In Mombasa In Relation To Mombasa Terror Gang
A 17-year-old teenager who is believed to be a member of a panga-wielding gang renowned for mugging and demanding money from members of the public has been detained by police in Mombasa County.
After the chief informed police authorities at Kiembeni Police station that the gang had been spotted carrying crude weapons, the minor was detained on Saturday in the Majaoni area.
The boy is currently being held by the National Police Service while he awaits his arraignment.
In the interim, police have also started a manhunt for his accomplices who eluded capture.
Residents have received assurances from the Hillary Mutyambai-led agency that more patrols have been made in the area to ensure everyone’s safety.
“We however, encourage the public, particularly the youth, to desist from being involved in any criminal activities,” the Police Service added.
